August 6, 2012 Comments off

Alastair says: I’ve set up a blog so that announcements about Uke Hoot can be posted there (particularly news about venues, which at present change every week. I’m hoping this will help those who don’t want to join Facebook. Here is the link…

Chords and tab site found by Tim

March 12, 2010 2 comments

Ukearist uker Tim has passed on the details of a natty little site for uke chords and tabs – take a look here:

http://muffin.net.nz/muffin/Tablature.html

It has chords and melody lines on the same tab which would be really great to work on together at the Ukearist. If anyone has suggestions for some that we might like to try then feel free to print off a few copies or let me know and I’ll do the same and bring them along on a Monday

Victoria Vox needs help!

November 6, 2009 Comments off

Victoria Vox needs our help!

Victoria Vox is an accomplished uke player/singer/songwriter.

Many of you might have been lucky enough to be at Victoria’s gig in Leith a while back.

If not, you missed one of my top 3 gigs ever.

Check out her website: http://www.victoriavox.com/

Victoria is currently trying to raise funds for her next CD and is asking for help from the masses.

If you want to nurture a ukulele talent, have a bit of spare cash which needs a cause or just want to be immortalised in CD history, consider supporting Ms Vox in her latest endeavours.

Check out http://www.victoriavox.com/newalbum/ for the list of benefits you will reap in return for your donation *.

If any of you opt for the house concert and need any guests that particular day/evening, please feel free to let us know!!

*in addition to providing support to a worthy recipient

Anyone fancy helping out with the site?

October 6, 2009 1 comment

Since Shane’s departure it’s just me updating this site now and I was wondering if any of the rest of you would like a login so that you can add new posts?  I don’t update the site as often as I’d like and it would be great to get more of you involved in publishing uke news, events and info from around Edinburgh and Scotland.

Let me know!
