We are incredibly proud that tickets are now on sale for our very first Ukulele Festival of Scotland.

We have a fantastic line up including:

Zoë Bestel, Mike Hind from Bermuda, Ken Middleton who is internationally acclaimed, Mersey Belles, Krabbers, Manitoba Hal from Canada, Ukulollo from Italy, Lucky Leles from Germany, Steven Sproat, Zahra Lowzley, Mother Ukers, Feckless & Fuddle and Michael Adcock, with more acts to be announced!

Ukearist on Monday Relocating for the Night

August 13, 2010 Comments off

Tricity Vogue's Ukulele CabaretUkearist this coming Monday (16th August) will be relocating to
Tricity Vogue’s Ukulele Cabaret at the Laughing Horse @ The Three Sisters, 139 Cowgate, EH1 1JS

It’s free and starts at 8.45, there has been talk of busking in the three sisters courtyard beforehand but I’m not sure if anyone has sorted anything out.

Make sure you bring your uke as there will plenty of opportunities to strum along as well as the open mic and other assorted fun, it promises to be a great night!

Just back from the Edinburgh Folk Club Annual Song Writing Competition where our very own Yvonne, David, Jane and Jim’s song The Kist was performed for a discerning panel of judges and audience.

Both the official Judges and the audience voted The Kist 2nd place!

Well done!!

(Yvonne even mentioned the Monday Ukearist in the introduction to the song and the compere has dubbed us the Ukulele Orchestra of Leith! Make of that what you will!)

And here’s a video of the performance:
