Farewell to John!

March 25, 2011

Hi everyone

As you should all be aware, this coming Monday (28th March) is John’s last session with Ukearist. As John was the original founder of the Ukearist, and has done so much to keep it going over the years, he will be greatly missed – so let’s make sure he gets a great sendoff!!

The plan (subject to booking) is to have our usual play for an hour or so  this Monday, and then to take the ukes over to Sofi’s pub for about half 8, after which we can have a few drinks and knock out some of our favourite tunes. Given the occasion it would be nice if we could spice it up a little with some added percussion, harmonicas, KAZOOS etc – just bring along whatever you can and we’ll be sure to make a good night of it. Obviously the more people that can come along, the better! – true for every week but particularly for this one.

Hope Uke-an all come (ouch!),

CHANGE OF PLAN (well, slightly) – Sophie’s is unavailable, so we are going to BODA on Leith Walk, about 10 mins from the practice.

I am really sad to be leaving, the ukearist has been a great place – I’ve leant lots, had fun lots and made some great friends. It is certainly with a heavy heart that I depart.

It would be great to see many of you down there this Monday.

    toodle pip,
